Belgium’s Exmar is moving into next year with new leadership. Carl-Antoine Saverys will take the helm from Francis Mottrie at his father Nicolas Saverys-controlled gas shipowner and infrastructure provider.
Carl-Antoine Saverys spent the past six years in deputy roles at Exmar’s infrastructure department and the shipping department after assuming several roles in the shipping sector.
Joining him at the executive top level are newly appointed chief of finance, Hadrien Bown and executive director of infrastructure, Jonathan Raes, who has been a member of the executive committee since 2018.
Mottrie who will stay on board as chief operating officer, alongside Jens Ismar, executive director of shipping. Both will remain on board of Exmar’s executive committee.
Commenting on the new leadership, Exmar’s executive chairman Nicolas Saverys said: “Francis led a full transition of the company since 2020 and managed Exmar towards great achievements, putting the company in an excellent position to tackle future opportunities with a strong balance sheet. I would like to express my thanks to Francis for his consistent guidance and leadership.”

The Brussels-listed Exmar has a fleet of more than 40 gas carriers and floating gas terminals.
“With the upcoming global challenges, Exmar is perfectly positioned to play a major role in the further optimisation of the energy value chain. The team will continue to grow Exmar as a key player in the transportation and transformation of gasses through state of the art assets,” added Carl-Antoine Saverys.
