Maersk unit fined in the US for overcharging

Two companies, including a Maersk subsidiary, have been forced to pay the US government a total of $3.66m in civil penalties for overcharging the Pentagon for shipments in and out of Afghanistan.

Farrell Lines and Damco USA, an American logistics subsidiary of Maersk, were found to have overstated the weights of shipments to the Central Asian state.
