Maran Tankers lines up shuttle tanker newbuilds in South Korea

Maran Tankers, a unit of Greece’s Angelicoussis Shipping Group, is bolstering its newbuild orderbook with a trio of shuttle tankers in South Korea.

Shipbuilding sources are reporting that the Maria Angelicoussis-led owner of over 50 tankers is set to put pen to paper on an order for three 158,000 dwt ships at DH Shipbuilding.

The newbuilds, worth $390m in total, are expected to deliver in 2027 under a long-term charter with Brazilian state-controlled energy giant Petrobras.

Last year, Maran Tankers signed up for eight LNG dual-fuelled suezmaxes at New Times Shipbuilding in China. The ships, worth nearly $700m will join the fleet in 2026 and 2027.
