New Italian line launched

A new shipping line was launched in Italy yesterday and is due to start operations early next month.

ProCargo Line will be operating regular connections between the Italian ports of Marina di Carrara and Cagliari with Sousse, Sfax and Zarzis in Tunisia.

ProCargo Line is controlled by Grendi, and partners include Bogazzi Group, terminal operator Porto di Carrara and former Corsica Ferries MD Euan Lonmon.

The company will initially deploy ro-ro vessel Altinia, and plans to transport over 200,000 tons of goods via the ro-ro, container and project cargo service in the first twelve months.

Tarros Group of La Spezia will also be involved via a sharing agreement for container services.
