Noble scores $40m debut rig deal in Spain

The rig owner said that an undisclosed operator hired its Noble Resolve jackup for a campaign that will consist of plug-and-abandon work on 13 wells.

It is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025 and last approximately 170 days. The contract value of $40m includes mobilization and demobilization of the drilling unit.

“We are excited about Noble’s first contract offshore Spain to perform this long-awaited P&A campaign,” said Blake Denton, SVP of marketing and contracts.

The 2009-built Noble Resolve is currently working for London-based chemicals giant Ineos. The contract started in July 2023 and will last until July 2024. The rig is working on a $110,000 dayrate.
