Noble wins Petrobras semisub contract off Columbia

New York and Copenhagen-listed drilling rig owner Noble has secured a contract with Petrobras for the semisub Noble Discoverer offshore Colombia.

The 2009-built rig has been fixed for 400 days from the second quarter of 2024. The deal comes with options to extend the fixture by 390 days.

“We are thrilled to announce that we will expand our relationship with Petrobras with this significant contract win for the Noble Discoverer. This also means that we will build further on the Discoverer’s already announced presence in Colombia, which is one of the South American basins that is now coming back with exciting prospects,” said Blake Denton, senior vice president of marketing and contracts at Noble.

The rig is currently operating offshore Colombia for Ecopetrol.
