Singapore’s Nova Shipping has returned to Chengxi Shipyard in China for four firm plus four options of woodchip carriers. The 70,000 dwt ships come with a $32.8m per unit price tag, brokers tell Splash.
Splash last reported on Nova buying similar ships at the same yard in October last year when it came in for two larger, 64,000 dwt ships.
Nova Shipping currently operates a fleet of 13 woodchip carriers, and it also has four 34,500 dwt tankers under construction at Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding. The group also has a container freight management and logistics arm.
