NYK in for LNG carrier trio

Japan’s Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has been revealed as the owner behind an order for a trio of LNG carriers in South Korea last week.

In a stock market release last Thursday, the parent of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries revealed a $765m order for three 174,00 cu m ships without revealing the owner involved.

Clarksons Research has reported NYK is the contractor, with the ships due for delivery in 2027.
