Oceanteam has agreed a charter extension with McDermott for CSV Southern Ocean which has seen it lose a charter with Fugro in Australia.
Oceanteam said that because of a cyclone hitting the Indian coast early May, the expected scope of work undertaken by the vessel for McDermott was not able to be finalised during the charter period. The delay has seen an extension agreed to allow the vessel to complete its work.
As a result, the vessel will not be able to be delivered to Fugro in time for its subsequent charter in Australia. Fugro has now cancelled the charter agreement and found an alternative vessel.
“Parties had been working together to find mutually agreeable financial solutions,” Oceanteam said.
