Ola Lorentzon elected Flex LNG chairman

Ola Lorentzon has been elected as chairman of another John Fredriksen-backed company.

The chairman of dry bulk player Golden Ocean Group and tanker giant Frontline is taking over the chairmanship at Flex LNG, replacing David McManus, who did not stand for re-election.

Lorentzon has been a director of Flex since June 2017. He has served as Frontline chairman since May 2021 and held the same position at Golden Ocean for more than two decades.

“I am proud to take over the chairman position after the long-standing stewardship of David McManus, who leaves behind him a company in excellent financial shape, attractive contract backlog and a strong management team,” said Lorentzon.

The Oslo- and New York-listed Flex has a fleet of 13 LNG carriers with a firm contract backlog standing at 51 years, excluding close to 20 years of options.

“The company is today well positioned for the next phase of LNG export expansion and I am looking forward to working with the board and the management to develop the company further,” Lorentzon added.
