Pan Ocean sells two product tankers

India’s Great Eastern Shipping has bought an MR2 tanker from South Korea’s Pan Ocean.

The 2008-built, 46,197 dwt Grand Ace8 cost $23.8m and takes Great Eastern’s mixed fleet to a total of 43 vessels aggregating 3.38m dwt.

Brokers report that Pan Ocean has also offloaded the two-years-older sister vessel Grand Ace1 for $19m to undisclosed buyers, potentially building its coffers as one of the finalists in the bidding war to take over HMM which is being sold by state creditors in South Korea.
