Pertamina wins charters for four LPG carriers worth $49m

Indonesia’s Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) has agreed charters for four of its LPG carriers.

PIS said that it chartered out its Gas Walio, Gas Widuri, Gas Arjuna, and Gas Ambalat LPG carriers via its PIS Middle East subsidiary to three companies.

Namely, the Gas Arjuna and Gas Ambalat vessels were chartered by SHV Gas Supply & Risk Management, the Gas Walio was chartered by Geogas Trading, and the Gas Widuri was taken by Vitol.

According to the company, the total value of the four deals is $49.34m. The deals vary in duration between six months and three years.

The vessel charters will add new country routes taken by the PIS fleet in international waters, such as Chile, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Tanzania, Poland, and Portugal.

Earlier this month, PIS bolstered its fleet with the addition of Scorpio Tankers’ 2013-built MR product tanker STI Ville in a deal worth $32.5m.

The 50,000 dwt vessel has been renamed PIS Sumatera and will join Pertamina International Shipping Asia Pacific.
