PGS secures contract work for seismic vessel in Asia Pacific

Norwegian seismic player PGS has been awarded a 3D exploration contract in Asia Pacific.

The survey is scheduled to start in December and has a total duration of approximately 50 days.

The Oslo-listed PGS said it will mobilise its seismic vessel Ramform Sovereign for the project. The 2008-built vessel previously worked on a multi-client 3D campaign in the Sarawak Basin, offshore Malaysia.

“We are very pleased with this contract award securing work for the Ramform Sovereign into first quarter next year. Most of our activities in Asia Pacific this year have been well pre-funded multiclient projects. Now we are experiencing increasing contract tendering activity and see potential for more proprietary work in the region,” said Rune Olav Pedersen, president and CEO of PGS.
