Precious scraps another two handy bulk carriers

Precious Shipping has scrapped two handysize bulk carriers – bringing the total number of vessels scrapped this year by the Thai owner to ten.

Apisara Naree (18,596 dwt, built 1996) was sold in July for $1.14m and Suchada Naree (23,732 dwt, built 1994) was sold the same month for $1.28m.

Brokers reported previously that the vessels were sold to Indian buyers for demolition for $265/ldt and $250/ldt respectively.

The sale of Precious’ handy Parinda Naree (23,700 dwt, built 1995) to Indian breakers was also reported by brokers in August. The price was not disclosed.
