Rowan jackup awarded Guyana job by Repsol

US offshore driller Rowan Companies, which is on the verge of a $12bn combination with Ensco, has been awarded a contract by Repsol Exploracion Guyana for 2010-built jackup rig EXL II.

The contract is for one well, offshore Guyana, and has an expected duration of around 45 days. Commencement is scheduled for the third quarter of 2018, with the rig currently on contract to BP in Trinidad through to June 2019.

Rowan did not disclose the contract rate.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
