Seapeak has had one of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers extend its stay with one of the energy supermajors for three additional years.
Stonepeak’s gas ship owner and operator said the charterer of its 173,400 cu m 2018-built Myrina had exercised a three-year extension option at a fixed rate starting in May next year.

Following the first option exercised, which will keep the vessel busy until May 2027, Shell will have three options remaining to potentially lock in the vessel for nine more years.
Formerly Teekay LNG Partners, Seapeak owns, operates or has interests in about 90 ships in the LNG, LPG and multi-gas segments. In a first-half earnings statement, the company also revealed a one-year fixture with an undisclosed charterer for its 2003-built 135,000 cu m LNG carrier, Seapeak Catalunya. The charter should start in October this year once the vessel comes off its current contract and includes an option for one more year.
