Seaway 7 taps Hellenic Cables for East Anglia Three offshore wind project

Seaway 7, an offshore wind unit of Subsea 7, has selected a Greek cablemaker to support its work on the East Anglia Three offshore wind project in the UK.

Cenergy Holdings’ Hellenic Cables will, under an undisclosed contract value, be responsible for the engineering, manufacturing, testing and supply of approximately 275km of 66kV three-core inter-array subsea cables and the supply of the associated accessories. Production will get underway in Corinth, Greece, in 2024.

Seaway 7 officially won the East Anglia Three contract in June 2023, a year after the preferred bidder agreement. The deal, worth between $500m and $750m, includes the transport and installation of 95 foundations and inner-array cables.

Developed by ScottishPower Renewables, the 1.4 GW East Anglia Three is located about 70 km from shore in the Southern North Sea and is one of the three consented offshore wind farm developments that form the East Anglia Hub. Once operational in 2026, it will be the second-largest offshore wind farm in the world.
