Semisubmersible transport barge Giant 6 hit a wharf at CSBC’s Keelung Shipyard yesterday around noon.

The barge, owned by Dutch company Boskalis, was carrying scrapped pieces from TS Taipei, a containership stranded near Keelung in March, to the shipyard for further disposal works.

Both the wharf and the barge suffered minor damage however the barge will receive an inspection at the shipyard before starting operations again.

The dismantling works on TS Taipei is still ongoing and it is expected to be completed  by September.
