Shelf Drilling secures extension for jackup rig

Dubai-based drilling contractor Shelf Drilling has secured a one-year contract extension for 1982-built Trident XIV jackup rig in direct continuation of its current contract for workover operations offshore Nigeria.

The latest contract also includes an option to extend the contract by further year.

The expected availability of the rig is now February 2020.

“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to extend the Trident XIV contract in Nigeria. We see this contract extension as a further strengthening of our relationship with a highly valued customer in a very important market,” said David Mullen, CEO of Shelf Drilling.
