Simon Møkster finds work for vessel trio

Norwegian shipowner Simon Møkster Shipping has won new charter deals for three of its vessels.

Simon Møkster said that it won a deal from its compatriot DOF for the multi-purpose support vessel Stril Explorer. The charter is a bareboat with a three-year duration plus four annual options.

According to a separate statement by DOF, the vessel will be utilised on a recently awarded PIDF project in Brazil. The vessel will be delivered in mid-October for mobilisation in Norway and transit to Brazil.

The second contract was awarded by Repsol for the Stril Mariner emergency rescue response vessel. The charter for the 2009-built vessel is for two years with options for standby and supply duties serving Repsol operations including oil spill response at the Yme field in the Southern Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The final charter is actually a contract extension with Equinor for the Stril Pioner platform supply vessel. The 2003-built vessel will stay with the Norwegian energy major until July 2024 with an option to further extend. It has been on charter with Equinor for years with the most recent six-month extension being awarded in February this year.

With this deal, Simon Møkster became the largest supplier of offshore vessels to Equinor providing services in the PSV and ERRV segments.
