Norwegian OSV owner and operator Solstad Offshore has bagged two contracts in Brazil worth a combined around $100m.

The 1999-built construction support vessel Normand Pioneer has been awarded an extension of its charter contract with the Brazilian oil company PRIO for a period of 18 months keeping the vessel fixed until August 2025.

In addition, Solstad has struck a deal with Equinor Brazil to convert the 2012-built platform supplier Normand Carioca to a well stimulation vessel and extend its present contract until December 2027.

The PSV has been under contract with Equinor Brazil since 2017. Equinor will cover the conversion costs and once ready, the unit will start its new scope of work in the third quarter of 2023, supporting drilling activities at the Bacalhau field.
