Stream Tankers in for more Japanese chemical carriers

Norway’s Stream Tankers is back in Japan for more chemical tankers. Splash understands that Fukuoka Shipbuilding has received an order for two firm plus two optional 19,900 IMO-II stainless steel chemical tankers from Stream Tankers.

The firm two units are set for delivery by end 2018 and early 2019 and the optional two units will be delivered within 2019, if declared. Stream Tankers has been a firm client of Fukuoka Shipbuilding, ordering a total of six ships at the yard so far.

Stream Tankers is owned by Utkilen (60%), EGD Shipholding (35%) and BSCO (5%).BSCO is owned by Bjørn Sjaastad, chairman of Stream Tankers and Bergen-based Utkilen.
