Swire Pacific Offshore closing Swire Seabed

Singapore headquartered Swire Pacific Offshore says that it will be closing Swire Seabed AS and its three associated companies at the end of February 2020.

Based in Bergen, Norway, Swire Seabed offers subsea services and seabed surveys for oil and gas, renewables and marine salvage utilising a fleet of four multi-purpose subsea vessels equipped with ROVs.

Peter Langslow, managing director of Swire Pacific Offshore, commented: “It is an extremely difficult decision to close Swire Seabed’s operations in Bergen but the ongoing state of the market makes this restructuring of our subsea operations necessary. Over the years, the Swire Seabed team has had a number of significant achievements and I would like to recognise the hard work and professionalism of our colleagues, both seafarers and shore-based employees.”

The four vessels managed by Swire Seabed will be operated and marketed as part of Swire Pacific Offshore’s fleet from Singapore. The Norwegian vessels will be re-flagged to Singapore.
