Taiwan Navigation orders two bulkers at Japanese yards

Taiwanese bulker operator Taiwan Navigation has announced newbuilding orders of two bulk carriers at two Japanese yards as it continues to expand its fleet.

The company will order a 80,000 dwt bulker and a 60,000 dwt bulker at Namura Shipbuilding and Oshima Shipbuilding respectively. Total value of the contracts is $64.1m.

Taiwan Navigation placed orders for two 81,600 dwt bulkers at Oshima and two 80,000 dwt bulkers Namura earlier this year.

The company’s fleet currently stands at 18 bulkers.
