Tianjin Southwest exercises VLGC option at Jiangnan Shipyard

Chinese shipowner Tianjin Southwest Maritime (TSM) has exercised an option to build an additional VLGC at CSSC’s Jiangnan Shipyard.

The company ordered one dual fuel 86,000 cu m VLGC at the yard in December last year, with the option for one more ship.

Delivery of the latest ship is expected in 2022.

Earlier this month, TSM also ordered a 9,500 cu m multi gas carrier at CSSC’s Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding.

TSM currently operates a fleet of 24 ships, made up of seven tankers and 17 LPG carriers.
