Transworld and Fleet form shipmanagement joint venture

Transworld Group and Fleet Management have established a new shipmanagement joint venture, Transworld Fleet Management, the latest in a series of shipowner/manager tie-ups around the world.

Transworld’s diversified fleet includes container vessels, bulk carriers, and tankers.

Transworld chairman Ramesh Ramakrishnan said the joint venture would enable the company to focus on the shipownership aspect of its business.

“Fleet has managed a number of our vessels over the past year, and this joint venture is a natural progression in our working relationship as we continue to add to our shipownership portfolio, particularly in tankers,” Ramakrishnan said.

The joint venture structure will involve Transworld and Fleet employees working closely together in India, Hong Kong, Dubai and Singapore.
