Ultra Deep Solutions secures long-term contract for newbuild DSV

Singapore’s Ultra Deep Solutions has announced that newbuild diving support vessel Andy Warhol has been signed to a long-term contract.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery by Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group at the end of the year, and will immediately go on contract. Ultra Deep Solutions did not reveal the client, or length of charter, with CEO Shel Hutton only revealing to Splash the client was an oil major.

Commenting on the contract, Hutton said: “As we continue to move forward, our goals at UDS have been to build great quality, reliable and fuel efficient vessels. The Warhol solidifies UDS as a World Class Subsea vessel builder. Our site teams have proven to be the most prolific builders of Diving Vessels in the Southern hemisphere. We will continue to strive to always be on time to deliver quality ships to the world stage. I thank the WSIG yard for their excellent management on the build of the Warhol.”

Ultra Deep Solutions said the contract value was somewhere in the $50m to $250m range.
