Vantage Drilling jackup extended by Eni

Houston-headquartered Vantage Drilling has announced that Eni has exercised a one-year option for 2009-built jackup rig Sapphire Driller.

The jackup is currently operating for Eni in Congo, and the extension will commence in direct continuation of the current contract in the second quarter of 2020.

Ihab Toma, CEO of Vantage Drilling, commented: “The Sapphire Driller‘s focus has been on providing safe and efficient well operations for Eni. The rig has now worked LTI free for more than ten years, showing what can be done when you and your client have the same laser focus on safety.”

Last week, Total exercised a one-year option on 2008-built jackup rig Emerald Driller in Qatar.
