Vehicles melt as Russia ups its targeting of Ukraine’s ports

The Russian military is pounding Ukrainian ports hard this week. Following very damaging strikes on the port of Odesa early on Monday morning, Russia then turned its attention to the Danube river port of Izmail last night with many drone strikes.

A port building, storage facilities and more than 30 trucks and cars were damaged at Izmail as well as a number of shipping containers.

The barrage came after Ukraine struck the headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Crimea on Friday.

Moscow has intensified its air attacks on Ukrainian ports after it quit a grain deal in July that ensured the safe export of Ukrainian grains.
