Zhejiang Tongheng orders cable layer at Shunzheng Shipyard

Zhejiang Tongheng Offshore Engineering has signed a shipbuilding contract with local yard Zhoushan Shunzheng Shipyard for the construction of a cable-laying vessel.

The company is a major engineering contractor of China Submarine Cable Construction and it expects to use the new vessel to meet the growing offshore engineering demand from domestic offshore wind farms.

Tongheng currently operates a fleet of offshore engineering vessels and barges.

Zhoushan Shunzheng Shipyard started operations in 2017 following the acquisition of former Zhoushan Yuansheng Shipbuilding with plans to construct vessels of various types under 50,000 dwt.
