DeepOcean lets go of 90 staff

Norwegian subsea specialist DeepOcean is to let go of 90 staff as it fights the downturn in oil prices, which has seen much of its fleet laid up. DeepOcean is predicting the offshore crisis will persist for some time to come and is cutting costs wherever possible.

Redundancy notices were handed out on Tuesday and the company wants to resolve the issue by the end of the month.

DeepOcean has a total of 1,400 employees.
