Laskaridis Maritime boosts kamsarmax orders

Greece’s Laskaridis Maritime has stepped up its kamsarmax newbuild series in China with six ships spread across two shipyards.

The Athens-based dry bulk shipping arm of the Alimia Group has returned to Hengli Shipbuilding for four more 82,000 dwt vessels and signed up for two additional units at Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu.

While brokers are quoting between $37m and $38m for similar tonnage in China, no price has been disclosed for Laskaridis’ scrubber-fitted newbuilds delivering in 2026.

The company led by Odysseas Laskaridis currently lists 26 bulkers on its website, including 10 kamsarmax newbuilds delivering in the next two years, eight of which are from Hengli Shipbuilding.
