Having signed an LOI last month, Odfjell has now signed final shipbuilding contracts for two chemical tankers with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China.
The vessels will be 38,000 dwt with 40 tanks and a cargo capacity of about 45,000 cu m. Both vessels – costing a total of $116m – will be prepared for dual fuel solution. The order also includes options.
The first vessel will be delivered in June 2020 and the second vessel in September 2020.
