Zhengpu Port readies for transformation
Shanghai: Anhui's second bonded area is likely to be situated at Zhengpu Port in Ma'anshan, with an application awaiting approval from the State Council.
Covering an area of 4.21 sq km, the tariff-free zone is part of efforts to transform the port into a major logistics hub of the Yangtze river delta.
Located along the country's longest river, Ma'anshan aims to evolve into a hub for river-sea combined transport and a base for port logistics. Ships of up to 20,000 dwt can call there.
Hefei was the first bonded zone in Anhui, set up late last year. [03/10/14]
