Low profile Tide Line, a pure handy player, is linked to its second ship in the space of two months.
Broker sources tell Splash that it has snapped up the 2008-built handysize CS Ocean for $8.5m from Japan’s Chugoku Sougyo. The price is in line with the market, according to data from online pricing portal VesselsValue.
Last year Tide bought two similar-sized 2006-built ships, the CS Salina and the CS Chara from Campell Shipping.
Piraeus-based Tide Line has steadily been increasing its fleet size. Its last purchase was in March when it bought the 2006-built, 28,500 dwt Mardi Gras for $5.9m. This ship was later renamed Anemos.
