ADES enters Indonesian drilling sector with Pertamina jackup deal

Saudi oil and gas driller Advanced Energy Services (ADES) has sealed a long-term jackup rig deal with Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia.

The contract, which marks the company’s entry into the Indonesian drilling sector, covers a three-year firm period and a two-year option for the 2008-built Emerald Driller.

ADES currently operates 87 rigs across seven countries in the MENA region and India of which 46 offshore jackups, two jackup barges, one mobile offshore production unit and 36 onshore units.

The work is expected to start during the second half of 2024. The rig will move to Indonesia after concluding its contract with TotalEnergies in Qatar.
