Borr Drilling picks up Latin America deal

Tor Olav Trøim’s Borr Drilling has received a letter of award from an undisclosed customer for the 2013-built jackup Ran to carry out work in Latin America.

The award will cover two wells with an estimated duration of 200 days on a dry-hole case and up to 460 days on a success case.

The campaign will start in October this year and has an estimated contract value, including mobilisation and demobilisation fees, of $30.4m on a dry-hole case.

The rig is currently on a contract with Wintershall in Mexico until Q2 2023. The Oslo-listed jackup owner said it is looking to secure more work for the unit in the region to cover the available time between these two programs.
