Chinese funding for Diana ships

Beijing: Diana Shipping has signed a term loan facility for up to $30m with the Export-Import Bank of China having a majority interest and DNB Bank as agent. The loan will partly finance, after delivery, the acquisition cost of the two newbuilding ice class panamax dry bulk carriers of approximately 76,000 dwt each ordered in March 2012.

Diana is the latest in a slew of Greek owners to tap China for funds following the recent Beijing trip by the Greek prime minister.  [28/05/13]
