Corruption scandal brings turmoil to Indonesian energy sector

Jakarta: Indonesia’s energy sector is in crisis as a corruption scandal engulfs the capital. Indonesia’s energy regulator, SKKMigas, has suspended all oil, condensate and natural gas sell tenders in the wake of allegations that its chairman was caught taking a bribe from an oil trader last week.

SKKMigas suspended a tender to sell around 400,000 barrels of condensate from Total’s Senipah complex that was due to close yesterday, according to Reuters.  [20/08/13]
