Beijing: China’s biggest shipping company Cosco Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Railway Materials in Beijing to promote the stable development of each party, according to the news on the website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.
With China’s intermodal connections weak, less than one in ten boxes are shifted by rail, the government has moved in recent months to strengthen the country’s rail system, and state-run Cosco, and its logistics arm, will help boost China’s rail freight competetence. [16/05/13]
