Beijing: Beijing’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council has claimed that China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) surpassed Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries in new vessel orders to make the shipyard group the most successful in the world.
Last year, CSSC’s new orders and its total orderbook accounted for 16.9% and 9.8% of the global market, and 40.5% and 23.2% of the Chinese market, SASAC said.
The news is much in line with SinoShip News’ forecast that state run yards will be the frontrunners in China’s huge ongoing yard consolidation. [25/01/13]
