Diesel smuggling racket smashed

Kuala Lumpur: A diesel smuggling racket has been smashed in Malaysia with authorities seizing 5,600 litres of diesel worth more than RM3m.

The smuggglers were selling the diesel from a jetty to vessels plying international waters.

Among those arrested were 20 crewmen. The bust is the biggest so far this year, as Malaysia tries to crack down on the large trade in illicit fuel.  [20/09/13]
