Dredging at Damietta

Cairo: The Ministry of Transportation will spend EGP67m dredging Damietta Port  Around 1m cu m will be dredged as part of the joint operation between Damietta Port Authority (DPA) and Suez Canal Authority subsidiary Timsah Shipbuilding Company. Work is expected to be completed by June.

A new 340 m pier will launch at the port in March, while two new warehouses will be built this year to boost storage at the port.
Plans also call for the ships to start using a 4.5 km long channel connecting the port to the Nile to transport goods.  [25/02/14]
