Efforts to improve box flow at Aqaba

Cairo: The Director General of Jordanian Customs has said that port authorities at Aqaba are working to find land space to make container yards for the many empty containers stacking up around the port. Likewise, closer coordination with shipping agents is being sought to clear the backlog of empty containers at the port. The Customs official also committed to deploying more full time Customs men on the ground to help smooth container flows at Jordan’s top boxport.  [18/08/13]
