Dubai: Martin Wandfluh, the ceo of Emirates Shipping Line, will touch down in Dubai tomorrow from Hong Kong, marking the shift of top management to Dubai.
Originally founded as a dual headquartered container line – in Hong Kong and Dubai – Emirates is retrenching top management back to the Middle East. Hong Kong will continue to play a role in operations, sales and marketing.
Emirates Shipping Line was founded in 2006 to much fanfare, its original goal to be a boutique, smaller container player. However, with the market turning south Emirates has found trading conditions difficult, stymying expansion plans. [17/10/13]
