Gazprom LNG exports to Egypt to start this month

Cairo: Russian energy giant Gazprom will start supplying LNG to Egypt later this month following the recent signing of a major supply deal.

The LNG deal follows on from a similar deal signed in Algeria for six gas shipments as Egypt tries to tackle an acute energy shortage.

Norway’s Hoegh LNG is deploying a floating storage and regasification unit in Egypt to get the imports moving.  [13/01/15]
