Havila Shipping PSV gets more time with Equinor

Norwegian OSV owner Havila Shipping has been awarded an extension by compatriot energy company Equinor for one of its platform supply vessels (PSV).

Equinor extended the 2008-built Havila Foresight contract by exercising a one-year option for 2024. According to Havila, Equinor has three additional options, each of one year for the period from 2025 to the end of 2027.

The previous contract Equinor awarded to the PSV was in December 2020 for a firm period of three years in direct continuation of existing contracts. The vessel has been contracted to Equinor since delivery and was upgraded with battery packages and shore power equipment in 2018.

In recent news, the Fosnavåg-based firm decided to sell the 2010-built platform supplier Havila Commander and the 2009 and 2010-built anchor handlers Havila Venus and Havila Jupiter. They will be delivered to new owners at the beginning of November. No price has been revealed.

At the end of June, the company had a fleet of 17 vessels, including 11 PSVs, of which four are owned externally and one is owned 50% and not consolidated. The fleet was estimated to be worth around $90m.
