Hoanh Son adds sixth panamax

Privately owned Vietnamese infrastructure conglomerate Hoanh Son, a joint stock company, has added six similar-sized Bulkers since it entered ship owing in 2020.

Sources say it tabled around $10m for its latest ship, the 2005-built, 76,000 dwt Omicron Light which has been sold by Athens-based Omicron Ship Management. The panamax vessel has been renamed Hoanh Son Universe.

The purchase follows in the footsteps of another almost identical vintage purchase done earlier this year when it added another, same-aged, similar-sized panamax, now named  Hoanh Son Planet.

Other owners adding vintage panamaxes in Vietnam this year include ITC Transport And Trading Joint Stock Company and Viet Thuan Transport.
