Hsin Chien Marine lets go of two ageing bulkers

Taiwanese shipowner Harvey Chiu and his Hsin Chien Marine have cashes in investments in the bulker market, pruning its 26-ship strong bulker arm by selling its oldest ships.

Splash understands that two ships have been offloaded this year; a 10-year-old Mitsui Tamano-built supramax sold to Jandoor shipping, while Indonesian owner Habco is revealed as the taker of the 16-year-old 99,000 dwt post-panamax Habco Ankaa, formerly called Dyna Globe, sold earlier this year for $15.5m.

Hsin Chien Marine can boast a fleet average of just five years valued at just under $900m.
