Iran’s navy thwarts pirates again

Dubai: Iran’s Navy has foiled another piracy on an Iranian ship, local media reported over the weekend. The ship was attacked in the Red Sea. The navy exchanged fire with the pirates over a period of several hours before the pirates fled.

Since November 2008, the Iranian navy has conducted anti-piracy missions in the Gulf of Aden and Bab el-Mendeb strait to protect the country's ships against pirates.  [23/02/14]
